(#021) One Day or Day One
July 8th, 2022, 8:07 pm. Shanghai.
I went in for a salad and a shake, I came out with one of the most irrefutable principles of living:
One Day Or Day One.
You Decide.
It’s so simple. So true.
Whatever it is you’re trying to achieve — sure, grand plans are nice, even necessary — but really, it’s no harder than waking up and deciding: This is Day One.
Break your streak?
No problem.
Wake up the next morning and decide again.

For those of you who’ve been following my journey for a while (and for those who haven’t, but still had the audacity to ask me about cholesterol), you might remember that last year I proudly — and successfully — won the war I waged on cholesterol, bringing my levels back within a healthy range. (Here’s the story.)
You may also know that recently I met a kindred spirit: someone who’s been just as passionate and intentional about his own nutrition, and who’s been spreading the word to anyone in his circle looking to improve their health — and not just when it comes to food. I mentioned him a couple of weeks ago in my Never Compromise on Karma post.
We realized that our research — and our shared belief in a form of well-being that’s truly accessible to anyone willing to invest some time and intention — could grow into something larger than ourselves.
So, we decided to take a leap and try building our “breakfast” into something with broader resonance.
This week, we agreed on what to call it:
DayOneDiet.
