(#016) Jam Nation, one year after the original idea

February 13th, 2024. When it started.

This week Jam Nation was listed on the Apple Store (and, in fact, if you are a musician, you can find it here).

I decided to make this my main interest on February 13th, 2024—some 14 months ago. I listed a landing page on April 3rd, told the world on April 17th, and engaged a development agency on June 6th, and off I was. I worked for some 9 months on the app development, preparation of my communication and marketing strategies, putting together materials for fund raising, and business development in few initial key target countries. All to get where I got this week.

Listing was a big deal—and I did experience it as such—but not because it is a success. Quite the opposite in fact: this marks the starting line, not the finishing line. Nevertheless, it made the difference between having a vision within yourself, and being the agent of something that now exists in the world beyond yourself.

Even in the worst of cases, however unknown to people Jam Nation may be on its day one, or any day after that in its future existence, it exists, it is out there, and is a legitimate attempt at changing a little piece of the world.

We don’t control whether our work turns out to change people lives, or our own life, but this proves that we have agency to try and, in the end, success or failure, that is what really makes for a great adventure.
