This photo is part of my “Downtowns” series. The strong geometric lines and clear block demarcation among the composition's objects give a feeling of an abstract, bi-dimensional painting, leaving the viewer searching for something to anchor “reality.” The only clearly “real” element is the white truck at the bottom of the image, which defies gravity and drags the viewer into an experience of a world hanging on a limp.

This photo is part of my “Downtowns” series. The image connects one of the most iconic landmarks of the city at the top—the two Pegasuses towering over the famous Magnolia Building, home of the legendary Magnolia Petroleum Company—with a digitally pixelated image of a human face emerging through the buildings at the bottom, highlighting a contrast across over a century of history and the puzzling co-existence of elements with deeply uneven development customary not only of Dallas city but of every urban center in the world. The image's slant angle provides an even more unsettling scene, as if time has been able to bend gravity.

This photo is part of my “Downtowns” series. It depicts four birds nested over an electric transmission line in downtown Phoenix, playing against the vast and largely empty space of the motorway below. The contrast between the birds—representing the “point of view”—and the vastness of the space around, above, and below them evokes the same sense of humbling proportion of human beings as opposed to planets and stars.
